Wayne Thomann

Wayne Thomann, Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), and Senior Building Consultant with Chelsea Group, is an experienced member of the Chelsea team. Combining his scientific expertise in aerobiology with his practical experience in managing health and safety for Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Thomann brings a seasoned eye to indoor air problems and building science solutions. His work with the Chelsea Group includes a wide range of projects relating specialized problems solving and forensic analysis.

Major projects with Chelsea Group include an extensive forensic analysis of Louisiana State University Medical Center, conducting the field work and analyzing chemical and biological contamination following Katrina-related events. His work advanced reconstruction and beneficial use of lower levels of 10 buildings on that campus. Dr. Thomann was also part of the Chelsea team that helped in the recovery of the University of Hawaii from a massive flood that damaged over 40 buildings. A frequent contributor in projects relating to commercial properties, Dr. Thomann has participated in multiple property condition assessments and most recently in conducting “ECO-Audits” – on site sustainability assessments – for multiple office properties.
